Associated Newspapers is a founding member of the Touchpoints initiative.
The TouchPoints Survey is an unprecendented multi-dimensional view of "a week in the life" of consumer behaviour, captured by respondents recording their activities for every waking half hour for 7 days using a PDA time diary, and also completing a 48 page questionnaire. Over 5,000 adults 15+ fully completed both parts of the survey across 2005 to provide us with the hub survey which was launched in Spring 2006.
Since then this database has been expanded to a working sample of 50,000 to connect into the media currencies and provide a new multi-channel planning base and system in the integrated database which is launched this autumn.
The two databases together act as a source of new insights on consumer behaviour and provide a unified language for the development of marketing and communication strategies across all the traditional channels e.g. television/press and the newer media such as internet; sms; direct mail. Users are able to set new communication benchmarks and evaluate mixed media options against audiences across all channels.
