Reportage

Live shows its investigative credentials with regular real-life coverage of life at its grittiest. We have gained a reputation for tackling the toughest stories.

This year, we received the Award of Excellence from the Society of News Design for Marco di Lauro's photo-reportage despatch from Afghanistan, The Flight of Angels.

Reporter Dan McDougall and photographer Robin Hammond took home an Amnesty International Media Award in 2010, in the Periodicals: Newspaper Supplements category, for their reportage story The Return of the Bloody Diamonds. The judges praised the Live dispatch for the way it exposed human-rights atrocities in Zimbabwe's diamond fields, describing it as "a fantastic piece of hard-hitting journalism". Dan was also named Journalist of the Year at the One World Media Awards for his Reportage work for the magazine.

Award-winning regular correspondent Jonathan Green has been honoured at Press Gazette's Magazine Design and Journalism Awards and the Foreign Press Awards for his expose: The Dirty Secret of Your NHS, plus an Amnesty International Media Award for his report Selling Soccer into Slavery, a report on the exploitation of young Senegalese men, promised Premier League riches.
Jonathan also made Live the first British publication to win a prestigious American Society of Journalists and Authors award.

Recent investigations include David Rose's story on suicide bombers, Angus Batey's scoop on the Brit piloting the B-2 bomber and Martin Bell's report from Yemen, the world's most dangerous place.
